Position Summary

The Quality Tech II plays a crucial role in ensuring that all products delivered to customers meet or surpass their expectations. This position involves reporting audit findings accurately and professionally to drive enhancements in quality, productivity, and safety. Responsibilities include executing part verification processes and managing part qualification and quality containment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of various process characteristics according to specification plans, including receiving and shipping inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress, quarantined inventory, reworked components, and finished goods.
  • Sort non-conforming materials as needed using the AS400/MAPCIS system.
  • Prepare RMO's, shipping orders, and procure supplies for the Quality Assurance Lab as required.
  • Assist in the verification of materials and parts, ensuring compliance with established specifications using the QMS Reliance PPAP system.
  • Utilize measuring and production tools while maintaining quality inspection equipment as necessary.
  • Cross-train in various quality roles to provide support to other quality personnel as needed.
  • Challenge non-conforming products following proper procedures and assist with rework projects as the quality inspector.
  • Maintain and input quality data/files as required, including MRB QMS sheets, QA files, audit results, and deviations.
  • Communicate necessary issues and findings to relevant personnel.
  • Contribute to the improvement of existing inspection procedures and actively engage in the PCI process.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Lead Kaizen teams and support the 5-Pillar objectives within the Quality Assurance Department.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in PC software applications (e.g., MS Word, spreadsheets, databases, email) with the ability to enter and retrieve data.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerances, dimensions, and various inspection equipment.
  • Demonstrated history of quality-focused work, good attendance, and safe work practices.
  • Minimum one year of experience with basic gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the production area supported by this position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage conflicts and solve problems independently.
  • Proven organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Responsible, trustworthy, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
