SENIOR CONSULTING ENGINEER

Heartland Business Systems is looking for a Senior Consulting Engineer to join their team in Little Chute, WI.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Senior Consulting Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting advanced multiplatform solutions to Heartland’s customers. There will be some travel involved, but don’t worry – you will have the opportunity to receive a company car to use


A HBS Senior Consulting Engineer will work as a member of the HBS Field Managed Services team providing consultative and proactive project management support to HBS’ account base:

  • You will design, present, and implement successful customer projects within proposed budgets and timelines having knowledge of the HBS Field Managed Services Tech Stack and other solutions\technologies as directed by customer demand.
  • You will be able to provide project oversight, when project managers are not assigned, to ensure that the engagement is executed within budget and work with sales to obtain change orders when necessary.
  • You will prioritize tasks quickly in a dynamic environment across multiple customers, as well as, provide presales design and implementation documentation.
  • You will document advanced procedures and plans related to customer networks/systems software and hardware.
  • You will focus and assist with the delivery of the entire solution as a leader, contributor, or facilitator.
  • You will provide sales consultants and fellow Engineers with network and systems design assistance, review, validation, and optimization of systems and protocols.
  • You will provide next level support of escalations from HBS Managed Services team and\or Secondary Engineer
  • You will contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices. Educate our sales teams on these products and services.
  • You will be expected to educate sales teams and mentor other Heartland engineers on products and services by working in a team atmosphere.
  • You will be expected to contribute to charge hour requirements which will be balanced against professional development and on the job training and pro-rated based on start date.
  • Your day to day functions as a Senior Consulting Engineer may include, but are not limited to presales projects design, documentation, and presentation, configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure, both wired and wireless, monitoring systems and verifying that HBS Best Practices are being followed, disaster recovery planning and documentation, server/storage design and implementation, documentation of existing customer infrastructure, active directory design, troubleshooting, and maintenance, azure cloud services design, implementation, and maintenance, virtualization advanced support and configuration, and general end user support.
Requirements:

HOW TO QUALIFY:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • At least one-year of experience as a Secondary Engineer or equivalent work experience
  • At least one-year leading IT project(s) from design through implementation including project management
  • At least one-year documenting IT infrastructure such as network diagrams, IT processes, and\or procedures
  • At least one-year identifying issues, analyzing the data, and designing solutions to remediate the issue(s)
