Job DescriptionJob DescriptionUnder the umbrella of Create Austin (an extension of the Long Center for Performing Arts), the Community Program Coordinator will support the administration of a series of community-based activities, beginning with the Long Center’s fulfillment of City of Austin grant administration efforts.

This role’s primary focus will be to support the administration of five cultural funding grant programs, ensuring completeness, professional communication, and prompt follow-up with internal stakeholders and community partners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about uplifting Austin’s creative sector with a high degree of comfort undertaking detail-oriented tasks and communicating regularly with the public.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for processing a high volume of applicants for eligibility and scoring completeness through an online portal.
  • Provide regular communication and support to applicants and awardees at various stages of their grant lifecycle. 
  • Ensure highly organized record management. 
  • Provide data and reporting for internal stakeholders and external partners according to agreed upon accounting and auditing standards. 
  • Assist with the administrative management of the current online grant portal. 
  • Coordinate with the finance department on awardee payment processing. 
  • Assist in coordination with the marketing department on tasks related to Create Austin’s community engagement efforts. 
  • Assist in coordination with various City of Austin departments on program logistics and implementation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • At least 2 years of experience in office administration and an Associate’s Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software and various online tools. 
  • Demonstrated experience within, and knowledge of, Austin’s creative ecosystem. 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment This is a hybrid position with an office on the Long Center campus in Austin, TX and the ability to work remotely as needed. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.Benefits and PayThe starting salary for this position is $45,000 annually. In addition to salary, The Long Center offers robust benefits to all full-time employees including:
  • 9 paid company holidays + 2 floating holidays.
  • 4 weeks of accrued PTO, which increases to 5 weeks after 4 years of service.
