George Fox University's College of Business announces a faculty position to serve as their Director for the Undergraduate Healthcare Administration Program set to begin in January 2025.


About the job:

This position is focused on creating and overseeing a new undergraduate healthcare administration program, as well as teaching classes within this major and making internship arrangements for students. As such, the department is seeking applicants who have relevant operational leadership and executive experience in Post-Acute Care, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Residential Care and/or Senior Living work environments. The individual in this position will need to create, organize and lead a new program as well as teach in a broad range of health care administration courses. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in appropriate professional activities, supervise internships, advise students, and carry out other faculty responsibilities.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the advisory board to create a curriculum for a healthcare administration program, and do all necessary work to launch the program in January 2025.
  • Working with the advisory board to oversee internship placements.
  • Seeking accreditation for the program (if needed).
  • Teaching a broad range of healthcare related undergraduate courses within the curriculum of the College of Business in areas such as health care management, health care policy, health care finance, and health care ethics.
  • Helping to identify, evaluate and oversee adjunct faculty who will teach courses.
  • Engaging with the advisory board, as well as the health care business community and related organizations/associations.
  • Participating in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.
  • Collaborating with the Adult Degree Completion Program director and department to ensure the curriculum is aligned with industry needs.
  • Collaborating across university departments to garner partnership and collaboration with this program.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • A Master's degree in healthcare administration or related degree required; doctorate preferred.
  • Relevant operational leadership and executive experience in Post-Acute Care, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Residential Care and/or Senior Living work environments
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Preference will be given to those who have the following attributes:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Salary and rank:

  • Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
