Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode which enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.
Summary
Amprius has an immediate opening for a Cell Assembly Technician The Cell Assembly Technician uses various equipment and hand tools to produce Amprius Technologies’ proprietary silicon anode Li-Ion cells. The candidate must be reliable, able to work well in a team, and have experience with mechanical assembly. This role will report to the Battery Assembly Supervisor. This is a 6-months TEMP role.
Job Responsibilities
- Use small equipment and hand tools to produce components and battery cells such as a die punch, rotary tools, and cutters.
- Operate large equipment safely and efficiently such as a die punch, rotary tools, and cutters.
- Measure materials with micrometer, mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper.
- Visually evaluate defects from a list of standard defects
- Input data into quality management software.
- Construct test samples for electrode verification.
- Assemble components into a physically complete cell.
Requirements
- Proficient with hand tools and production equipment
- Exceptional manual dexterity and efficiency
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately.
- Follow standard work instructions and recommend improvements.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Responsible for quality of tasks performed.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and well organized work area.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- One (1) year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.
Physical Demands & Work Location:
- Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
- Adhere to company’s quality and safety requirements.
- Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds.
- May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
