We are seeking a Pediatric Coordinator to join the Family Services team. You will be part of an administrative and clinical team to receive, assess, and bring to appropriate resolution all service requests (external and internal) for pediatric therapy and preschool services at the School of Imagination & Happy Talkers.

We expect that you will:

  • Conduct patient intake interviews, gathering essential information from parents or caregivers to determine the child's needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Screen requests according to Service and Provider criteria to ensure the most accurate scheduling.
  • Improve parents' access to services for their child while providing a public relations role sensitive to patients' needs using critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Build an excellent and accurate embodiment of the SOI brand by providing the first impression and first experience for new patients.
  • Field incoming inquiries and requests, matching parents to the best possible service, therapist, and program based on their diagnosis, geographic location, and preferences.
  • Develop a deep expertise in child development and developmental delays.
  • Remove obstacles for new parents by assisting with obtaining records, reports, etc.
  • Direct parents regarding insurance concerns and advocate to secure timely appointments.
  • Exceed parent expectations with your accessibility, knowledge, generosity, partnership, and support — serving as a guide for children, caregivers, and leadership.

We need you to have:

  • Interest in a role that combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities.
  • 1-3 years of related experience within the healthcare field; a Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; ability and interest to learn clinical information and criteria.
  • Knowledge of Google Apps, Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Ability to handle acutely ill children in stressful situations.
  • Availability: Monday-Friday (flexible to work between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm; schedules vary for Department coverage)
  • Superb customer service skills with the ability to effectively partner and make impactful connections.
  • A strong interest in working with people in a patient-focused environment.

We serve children and families from the Northern California East Bay Area, and the 12,000-square-foot center was custom-designed to feature more than 20 rooms of state-of-the-art multidisciplinary therapy, inclusion preschool, and groundbreaking early intervention programs.
