Job Objective


The Production Shop Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing the supplies, services, and products needed for production as well as providing assistance to the Production Program Manager, as needed.


Essential Functions

  • Identify and procure necessary parts and materials from approved vendors to meet production requirements
  • Conduct cost analysis and research to ensure competitive pricing and optimal sourcing decisions
  • Coordinate and facilitate audits of potential vendors to assess capabilities and reliability
  • Negotiate pricing agreements and contracts with vendors to achieve cost-effective purchasing
  • Develop and maintain strategic delivery schedules to meet production timelines and customer requirements
  • Analyze usage patterns and forecast inventory needs to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Generate and assign job orders based on production demands and customer orders
  • Compile and review time reports to track labor costs and productivity
  • Ensure timely completion and closure of production jobs to facilitate billing and reporting
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotes to customers based on thorough cost analysis and pricing information
  • Support customers in identifying required part numbers and drawings for their orders
  • Communicate with appropriate leadership/managers regarding challenging lead times and customer requirements
  • Provide regular updates to customers regarding the status and progress of their orders or repair jobs
  • Review and analyze re-order lists to determine replenishment needs and prioritize orders
  • Generate shop travelers detailing job specifications and requirements for production
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and distribution of engineering drawings to production teams
  • Manage receiving inspections and coordinate with vendors on RMA’s (Return Merchandise Authorizations) and CAR’s (Corrective Action Requests) for rejected parts.
  • Properly tag and identify parts to maintain traceability and quality control
  • Assist in the fabrication of aircraft parts as per engineering drawings and specifications
  • Assist in reviewing production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine material and personnel requirements
  • Monitor work processes and document completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards; report concerns to the Production Program Manager
  • Assist with on-site training sessions as directed by the Production Program Manager/Production Shop Manager or Production Shop Lead to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality control measures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Skilled in document control and organization
  • Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation, effectively managing multiple projects
  • Demonstrates extreme attention to detail, committed to maintaining high quality and accuracy
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in 10-key by touch with a typing speed of at least 30-40 words per minute

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus
  • Prior experience in the Aerospace industry is preferable

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Filing duties to include standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, and lifting
  • Lifting up to 50 or more pounds

Work Environment

  • Indoor/outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level

Work Status, Schedule, Travel

  • Full-time
  • Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
  • No travel required
