Job Summary:

Hinderer Motor Company, with four locations in Heath, Ohio, is seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you'll manage employee benefits, oversee recruitment and onboarding, and support employee relations in a welcoming and collaborative environment. The HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities and support HR team in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, benefits administration, and policy implementation.

This role will require spending  up to 40% of time managing employee benefits and position in located in Heath Ohio. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration:
    • Manage the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
    • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and claims.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding benefits.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
    • Support/Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
    • Conduct new employee orientations and manage the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
    • Address employee relations issues, such as work complaints or harassment allegations.
    • Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
  • Performance Management:
    • Assist with the performance review process, ensuring that appraisals are conducted in a fair and consistent manner.
  • HR Projects:
    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement programs and diversity and inclusion efforts.
    • Support organizational changes and restructuring efforts.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Policy Implementation & Compliance:
    • Implement HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
  • 3+ years of HR experience in a generalist or benefits role.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
