San Diego, United States Fuse Integration Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Who we are:

Fuse Integration develops complex hardware and software systems, delivering innovative communications, networking, and computing solutions for U.S. defense agencies and our nation’s warfighters. Our game-changing products and solutions ensure secure, reliable information and communications at the tactical edge.

About this role:

Do you thrive in innovative, design-driven environments with a high level of both accountability and trust? Are you passionate about delivering elegant software and hardware solutions with the right amount of engineering rigor? Are you seeking a technical role where you can take initiative? If so - we want to hear from you

Fuse is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Engineer (junior level) to join our team onsite in San Diego, CA. We are looking for someone ready to jump in with our Engineering team and help support the design and development of our mechanical products and subsystem solutions. Apply your analytical and detail-oriented mindset to develop and improve Fuse’s products for U.S. defense agencies that improve the sharing of information among warfighters distributed throughout airborne, maritime, and ground environments. Through a collaborative effort with the Electrical, Systems, and Production teams, this role will support Fuse Engineering to build communications, networking, and computing solutions for the warfighter. This is an entry level role with our team, with great potential for growth.

Warfighter-focused design and development is at the heart of Fuse processes. Throughout Fuse development our experienced team applies the best practices of commercial design-thinking, coupled to the DoD systems engineering framework. The coupling of commercially proven design with rigorous systems engineering gives Fuse an ability to rapidly design, develop and field solutions well inside of typical military design cycles. Fuse rapidly innovates, putting creative concepts into action and refining those concepts through hands-on testing, user evaluation, and iterations.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare new concept designs of products and mechanical subsystems that meet requirements and expectations
  • Mechanical design and development for sustaining engineering of our flagship and existing products
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to generate the detailed design of the mechanical components which include design of machined, 3D printed, and sheet metal manufactured parts along with cabling and circuit boards.
  • Interpret and generate 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards
  • Maintain PDM, bills of materials (BOMs) and releasing of mechanical prints
  • Support prototype and first article hardware builds
  • Compile information for customer reports, user manuals, and work instructions
  • The applicant must be a flexible, results-oriented problem-solver who is eager to take on a variety of projects and new challenges.

Founded in 2010, Fuse is a veteran-owned business. Our San Diego-based company has earned recognition as an emerging leader in airborne, maritime, and ground networking.

  • Must be U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD clearance per business requirements.
  • Your own unique talents If you meet some requirements of this position but not 100% of the qualifications outlined above, tell us why you’d be a great fit for this role based on your specific characteristics that align with our values and goals.
