Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing, the Hospitality Aide performs non-direct resident care duties within the scope of their nursing assistant experience and assists in maintaining a positive, physical, and psychosocial environment for the residents.


Responsibilities:

  • Bring laundry barrels to the laundry room; get linens for beds, and make unoccupied beds. Keep linen carts stocked.
  • Clean water pitchers and keep fresh water at the bedside. Offer water and/or juices several times to residents who request and can drink independently or based on the resident’s diet. Hydration rounds snacks according to diets.
  • Clean wheelchairs, beds, nursing equipment, resident personal hygiene items, and other items as directed. Requires the ability to lift at least 50 pounds and remove assistive devices to clean properly.
  • Follow safety guidelines. Promptly remove and clean up urine or bowel excretions from the floor and other spills or safety hazards.
  • Provide pre and post-meal grooming, including washing hands and face, an assist to and from the dining room.
  • Answer call lights in a timely manner, and determine if the request does not involve direct care.
  • Maintain proper oral hygiene by assisting with setting up to brush teeth, providing denture care, and keeping mouth clean.
  • Safely utilize the equipment. Report any equipment needing service or repair immediately.
  • Assisting with transporting residents to and from activities, and assisting with meals.
  • Walk with ambulatory residents or push in a wheelchair as required.
  • Follow the resident assignment schedule as made out by the charge nurse.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
  • Must be able to meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Must have related HR/ Business Office experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computers, and skills necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must know office machines and equipment and must be able to type at least 45 WPM.
  • BLS and CPR certificates are preferred.
