Job Summary: The Hospitality Aide plays a vital role in assisting residents with their daily living activities, ensuring their independence and dignity are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:- Adhere to the resident assignment schedule provided by the Charge Nurse or Unit Manager, demonstrating mental alertness and effective communication regarding residents' conditions and care.
- Assist ambulatory residents with walking or provide wheelchair support as necessary.
- Perform personal grooming tasks such as hair combing and nail care, adhering to safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to call lights, assessing whether requests involve direct care and fulfilling non-direct care needs, such as fetching personal items or providing comfort items.
- Utilize appropriate communication techniques in sensitive situations, ensuring residents feel respected and cared for.
- Monitor residents closely, reporting any unusual observations to the Charge Nurse.
- Maintain a safe environment by promptly addressing spills and ensuring cleanliness of equipment and personal hygiene items.
- Participate in emergency drills and in-service training, assisting in resident evacuations when necessary.
- Follow Universal Safety Precautions to safeguard oneself and others.
- Assist with laundry tasks and support residents in attending daily activities.
- Perform clerical duties as needed and maintain regular attendance in accordance with facility policies.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and guests, ensuring adherence to residents' rights and safety.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Good standing on the Nursing Assistant Registry and Nurse Aide Misconduct Registry.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Effective communication skills with residents.
- Capability to manage assignments amidst interruptions.
Preferred:
- CPR certification.
The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, and reaching, with the capacity to handle up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment:This position is situated in a clinical setting.
