POSITION OVERVIEW
The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is responsible for managing nursing staff and unit operations. This role is pivotal in maintaining a secure and nurturing atmosphere for patients, families, and healthcare personnel, while advocating for professional nursing standards, teamwork, and collaborative efforts to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The Supervisor oversees daily unit functions, contributes to the formulation, implementation, and assessment of policies and procedures, budget management, resource allocation, quality enhancement initiatives, educational programs, and governance committees to fulfill departmental objectives.
This role is well-suited for nursing supervisors in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings that require continuous staffing, including on-call responsibilities during off-peak hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clinical Oversight: Guides staff to deliver safe and effective care tailored to individual patient requirements. Ensures staff proficiency and encourages evidence-based practices.
- Quality Assessment: Reviews nursing practice standards, facilitates necessary changes, and engages in clinical research activities.
