Position Summary:
The Clinical Practice Specialist is primarily responsible for clinical compliance for UTP clinics. This person will work closely with the entire Operations Team to regulate the clinical operations and training of clinical staff. They will report directly to the Operations Director.
Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
- Ensures that Providers and Clinics of UTP are meeting Board of Pharmacy Standards for Medication Handling and Storage.
- Complete quarterly clinical audits in all UTP Clinics, and provide education on areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Ensures practice maintains proper and required signage in the waiting rooms.
- Manages and updates CLIA Certificates for UTP.
- Work with UTP Operations to create and implement clinical policies and procedures.
- Work with UTP Operations to create and implement clinical logs and documentation procedures.
- Ensure that UTP and its clinics are using quality and cost-effective point of care testing.
- Implement and maintain monitoring systems for Medical Grade Refrigerators, and compliance with governing agencies.
- Provides education and annual clinical competencies for all clinical employees, and documents attendance.
- Educates Operations and Clinical staff on sterilizing instruments, and documenting the procedure.
- Ensures compliance with Emergency Preparedness, and that staff and Providers of UTP are prepared if an emergency occurs on-site.
- Monitors compliance, regulates and creates policies on Infectious Waste Standards to meeting OAC regulations.
- Develops policies and procedures that promotes office safety and compliance.
