Position Overview:

As an LCSW with our organization, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to clients with varying needs. You will be responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships, developing and implementing treatment plans, and ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapeutic Relationship Building: Employ methods and techniques to establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients, assisting them in addressing and managing their problems effectively.

  • Treatment Planning: Develop appropriate treatment plans based on initial assessments, available resources, and clients' likelihood to accept various types of assistance. Make ongoing decisions regarding services and referrals as needed.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Interpret and apply written instructions, guidelines, and policies. Gather, organize, and compile factual material to support clinical decisions.

  • Ethical and Legal Standards: Perform work in compliance with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics, Social Work Service Performance Standards, and all relevant Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.

  • Professional Judgment: Provide intensive mental health social work services, exercising mature professional judgment and utilizing a wide range of social work skills to handle serious and complex cases.

  • Client Progress Reporting: Explain clients' treatment progress and goals to third parties with jurisdiction as required.

  • Knowledge Application: Apply principles and theoretical concepts of Mental Health (MH) social work and understand the administrative mechanisms relevant to the assignment. Maintain a basic knowledge of program objectives for both State and Federal agencies to ensure appropriate actions.

  • Clinical Services: Provide a range of clinical services, including assessment, referral, case management, psychoeducational support for individuals and groups, and approved therapeutic interventions based on training and privilege level.

  • Resource Referrals: Make referrals to other agencies, community resources (e.g., transition or halfway houses, shelters), or governmental resources to address and resolve client issues effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Valid California LCSW license.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health services.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing mental health social work services.
