Position Overview:

This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which provides reimbursement for student loan payments. To qualify, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria as outlined by VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within the designated timeframe.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM

Licensure:

Role Responsibilities:
The Nuclear Medicine Physician will operate independently, managing exam workflows, quality control, and safety protocols. Key duties include:

  • Interpreting and reporting on Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, and Nuclear Cardiology stress testing scans.
  • Collaborating with Technologist staff to ensure optimal imaging outcomes.
  • Providing radionuclide therapeutic services as necessary.
  • Ensuring the quality and timeliness of reports for all interpreted or performed procedures.
  • Participating in departmental peer review processes.

Administrative Duties:
Engagement in clinical staff boards, meetings, and committees, as well as involvement in medical education programs for trainees and participation in the department's Quality Assurance Program.

Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must meet the basic requirements and any additional qualifications listed in the job announcement. This includes:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Current, unrestricted medical license
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Nuclear Medicine

Physical Requirements:
Applicants must meet the physical standards for the position, including the ability to lift, push, and stand for extended periods.
