Human Resources Assistant

Position Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll/ HR Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the human resources and payroll functions within the organization. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Collect and verify timekeeping information.
- Calculate and process payroll accurately and on time.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collect and deposit checks into Bank.
Human Resource:
- Maintain and update employee records
- Manage electronic personnel files/ scanning in forms
- Initiate and save required trainings to personnel file
- Updates Job descriptions as needed
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- QA/QC Health Benefits Billing
- Ensure all necessary documents/ PAFS are completed, collected, and filed appropriately.
- Helps with recruitment phone screens.
- Help updating Internal User/SharePoint
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience in HR and payroll functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in HR or related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in using payroll software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
Other Desired Qualifications/Competencies:
- Understanding of Vantage Point and/or information management systems
- Ability to function through ambiguity, frequently changing priorities, and varied workflow.
- Experience supporting multiple departments in a fast paced, growing firm.
- Familiarity or general understanding of the AEC industry
