Join Our Team of Geospatial Experts Video

YOUR DAY-DAY WILL INCLUDE:

  • Performs various duties as part of a Hydrographic Survey crew.
  • Assists with field data collection in various marine environments using modern techniques and survey vessel operation.
  • Acquires data using multibeam, single beam, side scan, and magnetometer.
  • Performs safe small vessel operations.
  • Responsible for towing and backing trailers.
  • Responsible for basic boat maintenance.
  • Completes assigned tasks while complying with established field procedures.
  • Uses proper safety equipment and follows proper field safety procedures.
  • Responsible for the safety and care of the crew, vehicles, equipment, and the public's interest.
  • Walks for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground, and sometimes water.
  • Requires periodic travel, both in and out of state, and often irregular schedules including working during weekends.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • USCG license is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain TWIC card.
  • 5 years’ experience working on boats and in the coastal environment.
  • Small vessel operation experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Hypack software is required.
  • CAD experience is required.
  • Individuals must not be susceptible to seasickness.
  • Candidates who are motivated to learn and develop their career path and are self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit are preferred.
  • The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required.
  • Strong problem-solving, functional, and technical skills.
  • Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives.
  • The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying project demands is required.
  • Candidates are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record as determined by McKim & Creed.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, cleared background check and negative drug test result.
