About the Role

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Hydrographic Technician II to join our team of geospatial experts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for data acquisition using multibeam, singlebeam, sidescan, mobile laser scanning, and sub-bottom profilers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey planning and budgeting
  • Client communications and project reporting
  • Data processing, analysis, and proposal writing
  • Teaching, training, managing, and developing staff

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of professional hydrographic survey experience
  • NSPS Hydrographer certification is preferred but not required
  • USCG Captain's License is preferred but not required
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Ability to work in a team environment, self-manage, resourceful, and manage others
  • Experience with data acquisition systems including: multibeam, singlebeam, sidescan, inertial navigation, sub-bottom profilers
  • Experience with industry standard software packages including: Hypack, Caris, QPS, POS Pac, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Ability to perform field work including travel and weekends, and the physical ability to lift objects over 50lbs
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, cleared background check, and negative drug test result
  • A commitment to seeing projects through to completion, a high attention to detail, and an enthusiastic attitude
