The Talent Management Specialist at Cayuga Health System (CHS) is responsible for developing and managing key talent initiatives that support the organization's strategic goals. This role involves creating succession plans, developing action plans for departments, mapping talent within the organization, and establishing career and clinical ladders. The specialist will work closely with senior leadership to align these initiatives with CHS's mission and vision, ensuring a robust talent pipeline and fostering a culture of continuous development and inclusion. This position is crucial in driving employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational effectiveness.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Succession Planning: Develop and implement succession plans for critical roles to ensure continuity and minimize disruptions. Identify internal candidates for key positions, focusing on leadership potential.
  • Talent Mapping: Conduct talent assessments to map current organizational talent, identifying strengths and development needs. Use data analytics to inform strategies and address skills gaps.
  • Action Planning: Collaborate with department heads to create and execute action plans that align with organizational goals. Monitor and adjust plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Career Ladders: Support the development of structured career progression frameworks, including clinical ladders. Define required skills and competencies and create programs to support employee growth.
  • Employee Experience Enhancement: Foster a positive workplace culture by developing programs and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, using data to drive continuous improvement. Create and implement a 90-day employee experience process to ensure smooth onboarding and integration into the organization.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance management processes that aligns with organizational goals. This includes supporting performance evaluation processes to enhance productivity and development.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to enhance workplace culture and employee experience, collaborating with senior leadership and stakeholders to address organizational needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Master's degree in business, organizational leadership, public health, health administration, human resources, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree in business, leadership, public health, human resources, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate degree in business, leadership, public health, human resources, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience in talent management, HR, or related work

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a healthcare field is a plus
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to creatively solve problems
  • Experience managing and completing complex projects and tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong presentation design, proofreading, and document editing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneDrive
  • Direct experience working with diverse populations (such as race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, etc.)
  • Skill with group facilitation and public speaking is a plus

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Hybrid
  • We support remote work but most of the work will be at CMC/Warren Road
