DineAmic Hospitality is seeking a Public Relations Manager to nurture a strong industry network, develop our corporate image, increase awareness of DineAmic Hospitality's brands and execute effective communication and media relations programs. The role requires resourcefulness, tenacity, creativity, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage tight deadlines. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success in creating and executing impactful PR campaigns both on both the in-house and agency sides, a passion for the restaurant industry, and an understanding of the hospitality landscape in Chicago.

General Functions + Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an annual strategy for earned media for each restaurant brand and the DineAmic Hospitality brand
  • Drive our PR strategy (including local media relations, influencer and social media strategies, crisis management), and conduct daily external outreach and prospecting of potential press opportunities for all DineAmic Hospitality restaurants

  • Monitor and track press coverage daily; compile and distribute various press clips for management in a timely manner
  • Network and build new relationships to grow media contacts on an ongoing basis
  • Utilize new, relevant ways to promote our restaurants, owners, and chefs as well as tell the stories of DineAmic Hospitality to the media and general public
  • Create, write, and edit relevant, on-trend content within deadlines for DineAmic Hospitality restaurant brands, including but not limited to: press pitches, releases, media kits and alerts, brand promotions, marketing events, and DineAmic newsletter
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of local and national market dynamics such as forecasted trends, competitive threat, and local area happenings such as high-profile appearances, citywide events, festivals & concerts, and more
  • Leads offsite restaurant event activations and restaurant opening events in collaboration with culinary and operations teams
  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing on creation and management of Chicago major event calendar to garner press and attract new and repeat guests to our restaurants
  • Establish working relationships with different teams. Internal: operations teams, culinary teams, marketing and social media team, design team, private events team. External: editors, media contacts, various tourism and trade organizations
  • Demonstrates tact and discretion when handling sensitive information and maintains confidentiality
  • Partners with HR team to lead internal communications for the DineAmic Hospitality team
  • Serves as DineAmic Hospitality Brand Ambassador both on and off the clock – some after-hours and weekend work may be required
  • Multitasks calmly and effectively in a busy, results-oriented environment.
  • Other duties as needed

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Marketing or Communications
  • 5+ years of Public Relations experience
  • Excellent copywriting skills – writing, revising, editing, and proofreading
  • Event-planning Experience
  • Local & national media contacts
  • Experience in the food & beverage industry preferred
