QUALIFICATIONS:
• Candidate should have 3-6 years of agency or in-house PR experience (preferably in hospitality, travel and lifestyle PR).
• Candidate should be a motivated, energetic and pro-active self-starter, who has mastered writing in the AP Style format, as well as pitching media and simultaneously managing several client accounts in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Candidate should have experience executing out-of-the-box client campaigns from conception to completion, which includes but is not limited to: traditional media relations, social media strategy, influencer marketing, brand ideation, strategic activations and partnerships, event planning, digital marketing and more.
• Applicant should also have experience managing a team of Jr publicists and interns by delegating assignments and deadlines, and fully managing daily tasks, projects and expectations to support a larger picture strategy
• Applicant can demonstrate prior experience managing the interaction and daily affairs of client communication and expectations to help guide the campaign through potential challenges and quick turnover deadlines, as well as determining high-level initiatives and priorities most beneficial for each respective client.
• Should be skilled at researching industry trends and identifying personalized story angles going past round-up style press for more thoughtful, in-depth story telling.
• Applicant will need to possess and present a proven portfolio of media contacts for local, regional and national media outlets as well as samples of press secured to demonstrate knowledge of the landscape.
• Candidate will be able to provide examples of secured media coverage in broadcast, print and online news outlets in the Chicago market, but we would also like to see examples of regional and national placements.
• Must possess the ability to juggle many tasks at once and change gears quickly.
• Must be extremely detail-oriented and be able to work in a flexible work environment (some evening events and social obligations are required).
