The Director of Integrated Behavioral Health provides leadership, training, and clinical services in line with organizational efforts to design and implement an integrated behavioral health program at community health center clinical sites. The Director is a key member in state and regional efforts to expand integrated care within primary care, and may at times provide consultation services to external clients

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and establish infrastructure to help implement a population-based program to work with the behavioral health needs within primary care, maintaining the highest level of PCMH accreditation through the integration of behavioral health with primary care services
  • Provide direct supervision to integrated behavioral health team members including independently-licensed social workers / psychologists, master’s level social worker / psychology trainees, medical residents, clinical RNs and RN case managers
  • Provide direct and indirect integrated care clinical services, including piloting innovative approaches that aim to improve quality while reducing overall health expenditures
  • Consult with medical providers to develop evidence-based assessment and treatment protocols consistent with highest levels of PCMH practice
  • Population health outcome tracking with oversight of chronic-disease registries that identify patients who may benefit from integrated services, as well as quality and cost outcomes

QUALIFICAIONS:

  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology with four to six years of related experience and /or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; Ability to balance clinical, financial, operational and research (outcomes) roles
  • Licensed Psychologist in the State of Rhode Island
  • Bilingual in Spanish (ability to read, write and communicate) preferred
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with the health care team, providers as well as management team staff.
  • Proven writing skills to develop protocols, policies and procedures, required
  • Strong/demonstrated communication skills, written and verbal, required
  • Ability to function as a “champion for change”
  • Ability to motivate staff/teams and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint and Access database helpful
  • Knowledge of HIPPA regulations
  • Knowledge of EHR
  • Access to reliable transportation
