Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience and be prepared to travel to and work onsite at our local facilities. Priority will be given to candidates residing in the Alexandria or Lorton areas.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: The IT Support Specialist installs software, maintains computer systems and related equipment, and offers technical support and troubleshooting help with the computers or network.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance
  • Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users
  • Walk the users through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the IT Manager
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by users to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday (0700-1530 or 0730-1600)
  • Day shift, no nights, weekends, or on-call, (except for special projects)

EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED:

  • At least one year of proven experience as a help desk technician or other computer related customer support role
  • Formal education in Information Systems preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior military background is highly desired
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
