Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently. This includes matching purchase orders with invoices, verifying invoice accuracy, resolving discrepancies, issuing payments, reconciling vendor statements, and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including matching invoices with purchase orders and obtaining proper coding and approvals

  • Verify invoice accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and issue credit memos as needed

  • Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments

  • Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner

  • Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

  • Promote ProLift Toyota Material Handling’s philosophies, vision, strategies and value of “Doing the Right Thing”; Promote the TLM “Toyota Lean Management” philosophy

Educational/Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, at least 2 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience, and display proficiency in accounts payable systems and software and ERP systems. The Accounts Payable Specialist should have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
