Organizational Overview

 

The King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) is an administrative agency that oversees homelessness-related programs and funding in the Seattle-King County region. Created by an interlocal agreement between the City of Seattle and King County in 2019, KCRHA is responsible for unifying and coordinating the homelessness response system across our large and diverse region. KCRHA works with a wide range of stakeholders, focusing on continuous improvement across the system, centering on lived experience, meeting the needs of people experiencing homelessness, and making the most effective use of public funds. Our mission is to significantly decrease homelessness throughout King County, using equity and social justice principles. We are currently seeking skilled leaders at all levels. 

 

Team Overview

 

The Operations Department at KCRHA oversees both IT and People Operations, ensuring efficient organizational processes and seamless workflow. The IT Team maintains and enhances our technological infrastructure, while the People Operations Team focuses on talent acquisition, employee relations, and benefits administration. Together, they provide critical support to achieve KCRHA’s mission.

 

Role Description

 

The Training Coordinator at KCRHA will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs that support the agency's mission to end homelessness across King County. This role involves developing curricula, facilitating training sessions, tracking progress, and reporting on the effectiveness of training programs. The Training Coordinator will ensure that all employees are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

 

Accountabilities

 

Training Program Development

  • Design and develop training programs and curricula for new hire onboarding and various organizational processes.
  • Create training materials such as manuals, handouts, visual aids, and online modules.


Facilitation and Delivery

  • Conduct training sessions for employees at various levels within the organization.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.


Tracking and Reporting

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress.
  • Report on training outcomes and recommend improvements.


Strategy Development

  • Develop a comprehensive training strategy from scratch, aligned with the agency’s mission and goals.
  • Identify training needs through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with managers.


Diversity and Inclusion

  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within all training programs.
  • Encourage participation and empowerment of all employees to foster a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.


Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with current trends and best practices in training and development.

Implement innovative training techniques and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.



Minimum Requirements


  • Fluency in equity and racial justice concepts and language, understanding their privilege and power, and can bring equity impact analysis to life in the context of their tasks.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, preferably within a government agency.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs and curricula.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools, including Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong knowledge of common organizational systems and software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a combination of education and relevant skills.



Additional Requirements


  • Certification in Training and Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
