Job Summary: The Safety Team Lead provides safety leadership and strategic direction by leading the 2nd shift safety continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities include formulating a proactive, local safety strategy that drives the DC to become sustainable, healthy, and safe operationally.

Education:

  • Required: 3+ years of experience in environmental, safety, and sustainability
  • Preferred: Associate degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant experience

Experience:

  • Required: Basic knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation and safety training methods)
  • Preferred: Safety team experience in a warehouse setting

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiar with company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols associated with the position
  • Basic computer skills with experience using MS Office products
  • Ability to read and write basic English, excellent written and verbal communication skills, with public speaking ability a plus
  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Work successfully as part of a team through effective communication methods and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-accountable to work with minimal direct supervision throughout the shift
