Role Overview:

The Inventory Specialist assists in monitoring the inventory levels at the Company. This role is responsible for recording, evaluating, and shipping new stock. In addition, this role will coordinate supplies and purchasers to communicate current inventory levels and stock controls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee required inventory stock for all materials and components.
  • Review inventory layout and propose changes to better support the manufacturing process.
  • Develop standard packaging and label specifications to support inventory control and shipping requirements.
  • Lead the cycle count process to ensure counts are done on time, and properly entered in the Company system of record.
  • Reconcile any variance in cycle counts and develop a method to improve cycle count accuracy.
  • Train and supervise all staff associated with the cycle count process.
  • Review the forecast for inventory and ensure stock meets those requirements, while also being mindful of company waste.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure proper procurement and distribution of inventory.
  • Develop, post, and distribute inventory management system reports.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing initiatives to establish stock levels including but not limited to time to replenish, pull systems, and plan for every project part.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Independent decision-making abilities
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Exhibit time management skills; complete all work on time and within deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certified
  • Experience in metal fabrication environment
  • Experience in supporting operations in multiple states
