Facilities Technician 1

Main Duties:

  • Maintain a variety of mechanical items
  • Prepare requisitions for purchase
  • Change air conditioners’ filters and clean fan coil as directed
  • Maintains buildings, performing minor and routine carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities
  • Cleans work areas and disposes of trash and debris
  • Performs tests and inspections of pool equipment and chemistry
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Weekend/holiday work is expected

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.  Employee must know what Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to use in appropriate environments and must direct others to use same.
