Job Summary

The Anchorage Museum is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including routine building repairs, maintenance, and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine building repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and drywall work
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure systems are operating as designed
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and verify work completed as directed
  • Assist with upkeep and maintenance of operating systems, facilities, and grounds
  • Monitor and respond to work requests issued through our internal system
  • Manage physical security, accountability, and serviceability of maintenance tools and equipment
  • Practice safety protocols to avoid accidents and report any hazards to management
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and make a wide variety of building repairs
  • Ability to multitask and complete detailed-oriented tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to be flexible and learn quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and manage challenging maintenance issues
  • Demonstrated experience in building maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and/or other trade work
  • Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to respond to occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current driver's license and willingness to drive museum vehicles
