Davis Behavioral Health is seeking full-time Staff Accountant to join the finance team at the administrative offices located in Layton, Utah. The successful applicant will perform a variety of professional accounting duties as needed, reconciliation of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, accounts receivables, billings, and other duties as assigned.

Primary Job Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following assignments:

Accounts Receivable
Performs manual adjustment of receivable accounts and reconciliation of all cash receipts. Prepares trial balance support documentation for contract revenue accounts and contract AR accounts. Inputs all contract AR billings and payments.

Contract Billings
Submits billing reports through State software after receiving from Controller. Maintains copies of all contacts, billings and schedules for auditors. Records cash receipts. Performs other general ledger reconciliations. Researches missing or outstanding payments on billings. Reconciles all payments in billing system with bank deposits and cash reconciliation.

Fixed Assets
Uses accounting software to maintain capital asset records. Assists in performing annual fixed asset inventory. Prepares monthly depreciation report. Maintains electronic records and prepares trial balance support documentation.

Backup Assignments
Reviews accounts payable batches. Reconciles other bank accounts, and general ledger accounts, in absence of other Staff Accountant. Helps assists with annual Cost Study and other audit reports as assigned. Performs audits of Representative Payee Accounts.

Other duties as assigned.

Classification and Schedule
This position is classified as a full-time exempt position, with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week. The general schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; however, the need to work additional hours on occasion may be required.

Compensation
The range for this positions is $50,000 to $60,000 per annum based on experience.

Required Experience

The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

A bachelor's degree is accounting from an accredited university is required. In addition, 2+ years of accounting experience is strongly preferred.

Skills/Abilities

  • General accounting knowledge and techniques.
  • Knowledge of MIP accounting software a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to formulate and extrapolate information from Pivot tables.
  • Skill in the operation of personal computer and data entry equipment
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately with numbers; perform advanced mathematical computations; operate various types of PC equipment and applications; work under time pressures in meeting deadlines; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; develop and maintain effective working relationship with department directors, supervisor and co-worker.

Work Environment

Typical office setting with typical climate controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscle strain, related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing essential to successful completion of typical duties. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity must exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and guided problem solving.
