Field Service Technician Opportunity with a Family-Owned Business in North Austin, Texas

Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working directly with people? Do you have a flair for design and a desire to make spaces more beautiful and functional? Our well-established, family-owned business in North Austin is one of the nation’s top providers of premium blinds, shades, and shutters, and we’re searching for a Field Service Technician to join our team

Your Role:

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be out in the field, visiting customers' homes throughout the Austin area. You’ll use your expertise to provide personalized advice on our high-end window treatments and ensure professional installations. Every day is different, with tasks ranging from client consultations to troubleshooting repairs and installing new products with a focus on detail and quality.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: While experience in sales, customer service, installations, or carpentry is a plus, what we value most is a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
  • Driver’s License: Must have a clean, valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-home installations and repairs within a 45-mile radius, while managing your own schedule.
  • Provide clients with tailored solutions for their window covering needs, offering on-the-spot problem solving for any installation or repair challenges.
  • Use specialized tools and technology to ensure precise measurements and a flawless finish.
  • Oversee the entire installation process, from product delivery to final touches, ensuring the highest quality of service.
  • Manage stock and orders, coordinating with our manufacturers to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Utilize CRM software to generate accurate quotes and track products.
  • Follow up with clients after installations to ensure satisfaction and address any post-installation needs.
  • Drive to and from appointments in a company-provided vehicle, with a typical day involving up to 3-4 consultations.
