Job Responsibilities:
- Process incoming invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders, receiving documents, and contracts
- Obtain necessary approvals for payment and ensure proper coding and documentation
- Prepare and execute weekly or monthly payment runs, including electronic payments and checks
- Monitor accounts payable aging report and follow up on outstanding balances
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain vendor files and update vendor information as needed
- Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciling accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in accounts payable processes
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and streamline workflow
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in Accounting/Business is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience working in accounts payable or related financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and processing.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with electronic payment systems and invoice processing workflows.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in accounts payable.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and process improvements.
- Previous experience with ERP systems.
