Immediate Opening for Project Engineer(Aurora, IL )

Are you the type of individual that is motivated by the challenge of a dynamic, complex, yet rewarding career? READ ON Can you manage projects from start to finish? Looking for a Project Engineer who is passionate about delivering accurate design and cost analysis, working hand in hand with customers, sales, production, engineering, supply chain and all other departments to meet the needs of external clients.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain, and report Rolling Action Item Lists (RAIL) coordinating with customers, sales, and engineering.
  • Support status meetings and communicate with customers on project status.
  • Track and maintain metrics for project win rate and success, follow up on losses and missed opportunities.
  • Draft, review, and submit technical proposals to customers coordinating with sales and engineering. .
  • Represent the technical aspects of how the product solves specific customer problems
  • Perform technical presentations for the product and own the demonstration script for the product
  • Works in tandem with a sales rep to sell a company's products, services, and solutions
  • Knowledgeable about industry trends in regards to product demands and new product needs.
  • Knowledgeable regarding competitor products and capabilities
  • Can articulate the Value proposition of a internal product over competition
  • Traveling with Market Managers and sales when required
  • Manage the project records and scope changes with the customer and internal documentation
  • Manage technical communications and development of the project directly with the customers
  • Manages design activity and priorities within the engineering team.
  • Accountable for meeting design and prototype schedules and timelines
  • Responsible for Prototype cost management, tooling needs & costs & lead-times
  • Responsible for Production cost management, tooling needs & costs & lead-times
  • Responsible for Product validation to customers requirements, and conducing installations and evaluations at customers site
  • Must be willing to travel when required by customers or projects to both multiple facilities across the country, Mexico, and customer sites.
  • Responsible for developing a long term relationship with customer engineering teams
  • Performs other related job duties as required for the job and/or as requested by management.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Knowledge of Aluminum and Steel materials required
  • Travel to Mexicali, Mexico as required
  • Expertise in Word, Excel and must possess excellent Internet capabilities
  • Expertise in CREO, Windchill
  • Must have very good interpersonal skills, this includes the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with all levels and types of individuals, both internally and externally.
