Your Role

We are seeking a Project Architect to enhance our team in Aurora, IL. This full-time position is ideal for a licensed architect or one working towards licensure, possessing a minimum of 10 years of comprehensive experience in the planning and design of public safety, emergency operations, justice, and civic facilities. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills, collaborating effectively with all project stakeholders to contribute to our award-winning projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master planning, space programming, and facility planning support.
  • Development of design concepts and detailed construction documents.
  • Coordination of design components with engineers and consultants.
  • Clarification of design intent during bidding and negotiation phases.
  • Support throughout the construction phase, including submittal approvals and conflict resolution.

This role demands hands-on involvement, requiring the ability to create and present design concepts while assisting in the production of high-quality construction documents for competitive bidding. Ongoing project support during bidding and construction phases is essential, with occasional meetings outside standard business hours and potential travel to client locations.

Specifics of Your Role

  • Assist Senior Managing Architects throughout all project phases.
  • Collaborate with clients, architectural staff, engineers, and consultants to develop innovative design solutions that align with project goals and budgets.
  • Ensure quality control and assurance during schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Guide administrative and technical project efforts for efficient execution.
  • Conduct on-site construction administration and inspections to assess work quality.
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate project assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Accredited degree in Architecture with a focus on licensure.
  • 10+ years of relevant architectural experience, particularly with complex public safety projects.
  • Proficiency in BIM 360/Revit design software.
  • Strong understanding of various computer applications used in professional design, including Microsoft 365, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and familiarity with 3D programs like SketchUp, Lumion, and Enscape.
  • A robust work ethic and commitment to exceeding client expectations.
