What you will be doing:

  • Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.
  • Manage and optimize databases to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Work closely with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure databases meet organizational needs.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you already have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field, or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • 3+ years' experience in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server)
  • Experience in Property & Casualty Insurance preferred.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in utilizing Azure services.
  • Proficiency with database technologies Sql Server Integration Services, Sql Server Reporting Services, PowerBI, Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks.
  • Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Proven skills with database design and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with database development tools (Sql Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, Azure Storage Explorer, Visual Studio)
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to think critically and objectively.
