Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Technician:

  • Conduct fieldwork to collect soil, water, air, and other environmental samples.
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems including air sparging, soil vapor extraction, groundwater collection and treatment, and vapor mitigation systems.
  • Maintain field equipment used for sampling and monitoring.
  • Follow established protocols to collect accurate and reliable data.
  • Oversee environmental remediation activities including soil excavation, groundwater treatment, remedial system installation,
  • Record and manage data from field samples and environmental monitoring.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed field notes and photo logs.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of environmental conditions at various sites.
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
  • Report any irregularities or potential environmental hazards to supervisors.
  • Participate in system audits and inspections as needed.
  • Provide support for environmental assessments, remediation projects, and other environmental initiatives.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors immediately.

What we're looking for:

  • High School diploma
  • Mechanically inclined individual who is comfortable working around machinery and troubleshooting / repairing equipment
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refreshers not required but are preferred
  • Awareness of and/or experience with environmental remediation including soil, soil gas, and groundwater treatment systems is a plus
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Excellent communication skills; strong attention to detail; field adeptness
  • Good driving record and safety record and understanding of safe work practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions and terrains
  • Ability to load/transfer sampling and monitoring equipment into vehicles and at job sites
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% to support client project sites
