Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all residents.
Responsibilities include thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, and all surfaces within resident rooms, as well as dusting throughout the entire facility. This position adheres to a daily checklist and meets the established standards of Eaton County Health & Rehabilitation Services. The role may require flexibility to work various shifts across different departments.Shifts: Housekeeping from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Laundry from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM; rotating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:The following duties are essential to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:
- Uphold the facility's standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance by following established protocols.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Comply with policies regarding work shifts, resident privacy, and personal belongings.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, and changing linens.
- Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies and respond to requests for assistance with housekeeping issues.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure efficient operations during each shift.
- Maintain and sanitize all cleaning equipment at the end of each shift.
- Foster positive relationships with both residents and colleagues.
- Assist in laundry duties, including washing, drying, and sorting linens.
- Document and return any lost items found during cleaning.
- Conduct detailed deep cleaning as required, including terminal cleaning of resident rooms.
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris in a timely manner.
Work Environment:
This position is situated within a nursing home setting, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary. The role involves prolonged periods of standing or walking, as well as bending, lifting, and moving various supplies and equipment throughout the workday. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary, including evenings or weekends for specific tasks such as floor maintenance.
