CMT Field Engineer

NOVA Engineering & Environmental has an opening for a locally based Threshold Inspector (Field Engineer) for our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. This will be a great opportunity to stop traveling and work in the local area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform structural steel inspections and reviews, including the following: bolted and welded connections, CMU, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, post tension cable, precast/prestress members, wood structures and cold-formed metals.
- QA/QC testing for soils and concrete as needed
- Ability to read/understand project plans and specifications.
- Report data in a complete, timely and understandable fashion.
- Ensure that all test equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycle.
- Lawfully operate a motor vehicle. Maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep).
- Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required. Cellular phones are to be worn at all times and calls are to be returned immediately.
- Ensure that project requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements and company policies or procedures. Attend all technician meetings.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed ICC Commercial Building Inspector or one or more ICC Special Inspector licenses (Soils, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Masonry, Structural Welding & Bolting)
- Also willing to hire a Civil/Construction Engineering graduate who has passed FE exam with threshold inspection experience
- ACI Concrete Field Testing - Level 1
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with concrete, including ICC, PTI, and ACI certifications a huge plus
- Florida EI / PE license
