Role Overview: The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in the execution of solar projects, ensuring that all phases of construction are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and implement the project plan and schedule, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
- Foster a collaborative environment among project teams, including subcontractors and trade labor.
- Oversee and coordinate construction activities under the guidance of the Site Superintendent.
- Mentor and train labor forces, foremen, and general foremen, while continuously seeking ways to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure that all project materials and workmanship comply with established quality standards and design specifications.
- Gather essential information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and authorities to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Proactively communicate potential issues or schedule conflicts to senior management and assist in resolving them.
- Collaborate with the Site Superintendent to ensure timely submission of all required reports.
- Obtain necessary training certifications, including Forklift Operator, Rigging, and OSHA-40.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficient in applying advanced engineering principles to address construction challenges.
- Adept at visualizing project scope and anticipating constructability issues, integrating solutions into construction plans.
- Skilled in developing and managing project schedules, including critical path analysis.
- Capable of overseeing multiple facets of construction projects and accepting responsibility for outcomes.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively within a large, dynamic team and uphold high standards of quality assurance.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with scheduling software, preferably Primavera (P6), is preferred.
