We are looking to grow our Data Services team with a new Director of Student Data Services Founded in 2010, we empower charter schools and non-profits with financial, data, and operational support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all data hours are submitted for AR purposes.
  • Model and facilitate best-in-class team culture practices, such as valuing diverse perspectives, and working across lines of differences
  • Manage the professional growth of direct reports to build a strong leadership pipeline
  • Create short- and long-term departmental vision; utilize and model project management, customer service and change management skills to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Identify, create, implement, and support improvement initiatives and solutions, working with internal and external stakeholders to remedy gaps.
  • Develop repository for weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting of key organizational drivers.
  • Maintain a competitive edge by remaining current on trends and best practices for data and technology.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Generally, any combination of education that would provide the required knowledge and skills for successful performance would qualify.A typical method of demonstrating these requirements would be:

EDUCATION:Bachelors degree in a related field such as Education, Data Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in Education, Data Science, or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of experience being responsible for CALPADS data collection, error correction, SIS-to-CALPADS data and certification.

Three (3) or more years of providing Special Education Data Clerk experience.

Three (3) or more years of overseeing attendance collection, reporting and auditing tasks.

Two (2) years of System Administrator experience with one or more Student Information Systems (PowerSchool, Aeries, and/or Infinite Campus).

Prior team management experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Attendance procedure, I.S., interim and annual audit service area.

CALPADS data production and correction requirements.

Best practices for data management and analytics in an educational context.

Data governance and compliance related to school data.

Developing and implementing data-drive strategies to improve educational outcomes.

Educational data privacy laws and regulations, including FERPA and SOPIPA.

Intermediate (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel.

Proper and effective use of English grammar and communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to effectively listen to and empathize with customers.

Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
