Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager will establish and implement short and long-range objectives for the assigned department, oversee related functions and activities, and administer company policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager will be involved in all aspects of the operation and frequently be tasked with specific assignments to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of different departments. It is expected for all Assistant Managers to become Managers in the future.

Must have a minimum of 2 years in constructionSupervisory Responsibilities:
  • May hire and train new staff or assist management with this process.
  • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of the production department, sales staff and/or admin team. Typically, the Assistant Manager will be focused on 1 to 2 departments at a time (not all 3).
  • As requested by the Manager, conducts or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive for staff.
  • Assists the manager with personnel actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Will be expected to learn the business from the ground up which will require performing multiple roles within the company in addition to managing in the beginning.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Will be required to learn, implement and manage company safety policies
  • Monitors departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Will work closely with and be trained by multiple branch managers and executive staff.
  • Manages day-to-day aspects of the department(s) and its personnel to ensure projects/tasks are completed and goals and customer needs are met.
  • Collaborates with other managers to plan, direct, and coordinate programs and projects.
  • Collaborates with other managers to analyze costs, benefits, and losses of company profits.
  • Drafts, submits, and presents various performance and management reports.
  • Manages inventory, approving or facilitating purchases as needed; negotiates related pricing contracts and verifies costs and receipts.
  • Manages conflicts and resolves complaints about or within the department(s).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel for training purposes
  • Ability to take direction and input from all members of the team. Our trade takes years to master and management must be willing to openly take suggestions from all levels of the organization to be successful.
  • Ability to create and present ideas, reports, and budgets in various formats.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to assign and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to independently prioritize tasks/problems/situations as they arise. Training/coaching will be provided but this is a key area of emphasis that needs to be developed quickly.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • Optional-Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Recommended but not required- Three years of related experience within the industry.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be physically able to perform lengthy job walks that require using up to 10 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be physically able to operate company vehicles and rented equipment (training will be provided).
