Urological Associates of Savannah has an immediate full-time, benefited position opening for an experienced Patient Collections Specialist.
Responsibilities include collecting patient payments, initiate, execute and follow-up on payment plans, follow up on delinquent accounts for collections. Reviews billing information, patient debt and patient account information to be sure that all information is accurate and contacts patients to resolve patient debt. Monitors accounts to identify outstanding debts, investigates historical data for each account, takes actions for timely payments. Processes payments, collections payments and refunds. Resolves patient billing issues. Must be organized, be a problem solver, and have the ability to communicate effectively with patients. Knowledge of Greenway PrimeSuite EMR helpful. (Employees will be expected to report to the office daily for this position)
General Summary of Duties: Performs all necessary tasks to collect outstanding balances on patient accounts. Responds to customer inquiries and concerns, and perform special projects as directed.
Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience: Minimum one (1) year insurance billing and general office duty experience with knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 required.
Performance Requirements:
  • Knowledge of-- billing practices and clinic policies/procedures; medical terminology; insurance industry; grammar, spelling and punctuation to type correspondence
  • Skills in--computer programs, spreadsheets, applications; using a calculator; typing 40wpm
  • Ability to--understand/interpret policies and regulations; prepare documents in response to complaints/inquiries; examine documents for accuracy/completeness; master all system computer functions applicable to duties and maintain proficiency; read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction; sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric system; communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff and others
