SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Housing Clinical Services Department services residents throughout the Pine Street Inn Permanent Housing and Specialized Housing to provide clinical support, consultation, and direct intervention in promotion of resident housing stability. Clinical Services types include housing clinicians, clinical crisis services, recovery coaching, and recovery-oriented case management. The department exists in collaboration with the Housing Support Services within the Housing Services package offered to residents.

The Director of the Housing Clinical Services will provide leadership, clinical oversight, and overall responsibility for Pine Street Inn's Housing Clinical Services. The incumbent will work in partnership with their peer directors in Housing Support Services and Specialized Housing to coordinate the clinical interventions offered to residents and clinical guidance and support for staff across programs.

The Director will develop a deep knowledge of Permanent Supportive Housing and will ensure the provision of high-quality housing and services to residents served. These responsibilities include but are not limited to, oversight of all clinical/operational/budgetary aspects, supervision of staff, implementation of best practices, and meeting all other regulatory funding and contractual requirements. The Director develops expectations, procedures and trainings for the clinical services programs. The Director will support the agency's mission and strategic plan in combination with other program departments.

The Director of Housing Clinical Services will be self-motivated, possess exceptional communication skills, capable of coordinating service provision, program procedures, and implementing program developmental plans. The position requires a great deal of tack, diplomacy, and creative problem solving in order to maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external partners.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:


REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology or related field
  • Independently licensed LICSW/LMHC

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:


REQUIRED:


  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in homeless services or behavioral health services; including progressive supervisory and management responsibilities
  • Skilled in the provision of housing first, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing and harm reduction approaches
  • Experience integrating best practices into day-to-day operations as well as staff training, consultation, and supervision Demonstrated history of leading and managing the provision of supportive services for a vulnerable population, preferably in homeless services, behavioral health services or residential support service field
  • Executive disposition and the demonstrated ability to work well with senior leadership and program managers and officials both within, and outside, of the PSI Housing Department; must be able to effective work with peers, subordinates and internal and external partners.
  • Successful record of accomplishment for facilitating change management initiatives, particularly with respect to service and program enhancements benefiting both program participants and staff.
  • Superior planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software (e.g., SmartSheet, SharePoint).
  • A positive approach to change
  • Experience in and ability to maintain confidential records and information
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a goal-orientated team environment
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the Inn and a positive sense of humor

PREFERRED:

  • Experience developing program policies and practices as well as experience in establishing and maintaining excellent external and internal partnerships to meet program goals.
  • Training in clinical supervision
  • Strong commitment to the affordable housing and/or Housing First and Harm Reduction approach
  • Knowledge of housing management
  • Experience working with chronically homeless individuals in housing first programs
