Staff Position: Coordinator of Ministries and Apostolates

The Coordinator of Ministries and Apostolates is responsible for sharing in the ministry of the pastor of St. Pius X parish in his duty to lead our parishioners to a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ and a profound love for His Church. The Coordinator of Ministries and Apostolates will work collaboratively with the pastor and all members of the parish and school staff to advance the ministries and apostolates of the parish by forming disciples of Jesus and going out to the world to proclaim the Gospel.

Work responsibilities will total fifteen to twenty hours a week. This position will require regular office hours as well as some commitments on weekday evenings and Sunday mornings. (This position could be combined with the Director of Religious Education position for a candidate seeking full-time employment, provided the professional requirements for that position are met.)

Responsibilities:
 Maintain the parish calendar and respond to requests for scheduling events on campus.
 Coordinate the schedules for Liturgical Ministers: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Readers, and Altar Servers.
 Serve as the coordinator for all ministries and apostolates of the parish. Assist leaders with advertising, planning, etc. Maintain regular communication with ministry leaders.
 Coordinate an annual gathering of the leaders of ministries and apostolates.
 Maintain a current list of all ministries and apostolates, with their leaders and contact information, to share with parish staff and pastor.
 Create an annual parish ministry brochure to be given to new members of the church and school community.
 Coordinate an annual parish expo of ministries and apostolates to encourage participation.
 Coordinate parish special events with assistance of volunteers: Caroling in the Lanes, Outdoor Stations of the Cross, Women's Holy Hour, Pet Blessing, Epiphany Chalk, Candlemas, etc.
 Coordinate special presentations or missions for Advent and Lent.
 Attend all staff meetings to coordinate with staff on parish ministries and apostolates. If there are times when attendance is not possible, send a summary of upcoming events and requests for any needed support.

Professional Requirements:
 Must be an active, practicing Catholic in good standing, striving to live in conformity with the moral teachings of the Church.
 Must have the knowledge and desire to hand on the Catholic Faith.
 Must enjoy working with parishioners and have a welcoming personality.
 Must possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
 Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
 Must be self-motivated.
