Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Summary: We are seeking a meticulous and driven staff accountant to join our finance team. The staff accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements, maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and conducting financial analysis as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and examine financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  2. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  3. Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  4. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  5. Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential financial risks.
  6. Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, sales tax, etc.) accurately and on time.
  7. Assist with internal and external audits.
  8. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial goals are met.
  10. Provide support to finance team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred
  • Proven experience (1-3 years) as a staff accountant or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
  • SAGE and ADP preferred experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (experience with ERP systems a plus).
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
