Summary: We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager.  This person will be responsible for directing all corporate negotiations with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible prices, terms, conditions and services guarantee. They will manage a small team supply chain professionals. Develops new supply sources when current vendors are inadequate.  Assists with Research and Development of new products. Develops demand plans for the assigned commodities. Interface with all departments to resolve problems associated with purchased items. Assists with quality control initiatives and promotes company philosophy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops appropriate supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
  • Leads the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Directs and coordinates all supply chain functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
  • Monitors and corrects inventory levels in all warehouses to ensure rotation and maximize working capital.
  • Works with freight forwards and transportation companies to set best route and rate (reviews and approves all freight terms and agreements).
  • Determines best practices for freight in and freight consolidation.
  • Supports proper utilization of ERP system (NetSuite).
  • Member of the operations staff, responsible to routinely report on department KPIs along with appropriate analysis and countermeasures where necessary.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Create and maintain demand planning processes and systems to improve forecasting accuracy.

·         Work with customers, sales team and supply chain management to ensure ongoing forecasting accuracy and adjust proactively for business needs.

  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials. 
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
  • Gain knowledge of the company’s culture, products, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Working knowledge of 3 or more of the following commodities:
    • Industrial grade fabrics and microfibers
    • Industrial grade polyurethane foams and leather
    • Printed goods and packaging
    • Printed Circuit boards and electronic components
    • Consumer Shoes/Sandals
    • Steel Fabrication and small Machined parts

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management experience
  • APIM Certified Production Inventory Management (CPIM)
  •  
  • Five years hands-on purchasing experience required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a business or engineering-related field, preferred.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certificate, preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required, including Adobe Acrobat and MS Office: Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with demand planning, purchase order creation and item setup in a modern ERP system such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle or Netsuite is strongly preferred.
