The Medical Biller/ Insurance Verification Specialist/ Front Desk position is a crucial role within our healthcare practice, responsible for administrative, billing, and insurance tasks to ensure efficient patient care and smooth operations along with medical billing and insurance verification. The ideal candidate is friendly, upbeat, patient, professional, respectful, team-oriented, and has a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Answer a high volume of phone calls, make appointments, and handle patient inquiries
- Check patients in and out, collect copays and balances, and handle payments
- Enter patient data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems accurately
- Verify insurance benefits and process authorizations and referrals
- Follow up with sent faxes/ go through received faxes
- Follow up with insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims, and resolves issues and re-submits claims.
- Follow through with appeals in a timely manner.
- Work with patients to establish payment plan for past due accounts
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience front desk experience is a plus
- Previous experience in a podiatry office setting is a plus
- Must have previous experience with insurance verification
- Must have previous experience with medical billing
- Strong organizational skills
- EMR experience, preferably with NextGen
- Bilingual is a plus
Schedule:
M-Th: 8 am - 4 pm
Friday: 8 am - 12 pm
