Title: Marketing Director

Location: North Sioux City, SD

Reports to: CEO


Job Description: The Marketing Director will lead a team of marketing professionals to strategically plan, lead, and execute Sterling’s marketing activities. The Marketing Director will work closely with internal department heads to support their teams and enhance business development in alignment with the strategic sales goals of Sterling.


Required Technical Skills: The Marketing Director should have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite. Experience using a CRM tool, specifically Salesforce, is preferred. Experience executing marketing campaigns using both traditional channels and digital channels is required.

Required Education/Experience: The Marketing Director should have a minimum of 8+ years of experience in a senior-level marketing role in a corporate environment. Experience in business to government marketing, channel sales, e-commerce development, and/or the technology industry is highly preferred. He or she must have a strong background in strategic marketing. A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan marketing and branding objectives.
  • Prepare marketing strategies in accordance with corporate goals.
  • Define critical success factors for marketing programs and analyze results, report on performance.
  • Forecast expenses, manage budgets, and orient efforts around high impact activities that deliver maximum value.
  • Oversee all marketing activities including demand generation, content marketing, collateral development, digital initiatives, tradeshows, events, PR, branding, and social media. Ensure corporate brand messages are consistent.
  • Manage relationships with third party partners and agencies to deliver and execute necessary assets and programs.
  • Prepare marketing plans for new corporate ventures, initiatives, or product offerings in cooperation with senior management.
  • Develop and lead a marketing team that will develop and execute new concepts to position Sterling as an innovator and leader.
