Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Controller to lead our finance and accounting department. This role is pivotal in managing our financial operations and supporting our growth trajectory. The Controller will oversee a small team and report directly to the CEO, contributing to strategic financial decisions while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and business planning.
- Collaborate closely with senior management and department heads to drive financial performance and operational efficiencies.
- Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations.
- Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing financial expertise and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
