Position Title: Building Automation Technician II

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests, inspections, and calibrations of sensors, meters, gauges, and controllers to ensure precision.
  • Interpret and identify components from control system schematics.
  • Recognize mechanical equipment depicted in technical drawings, including chillers, boilers, pumps, and air handling units.
  • Understand fundamental electrical control circuits, including 24VAC power and controller inputs/outputs.
  • Comprehend basic control and networking principles.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in controls hardware.
  • Implement system graphics according to project specifications.
  • Replace faulty wiring and tubing as necessary.
  • Document calibrations performed, parts utilized, and maintain an inventory of components.
  • Create schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect modifications made to instruments, circuits, and systems.
  • Monitor, identify, and troubleshoot potential issues using computer workstations and on-site evaluations.
  • Collaborate with installation or maintenance teams to execute installations, repairs, or modifications of control systems and equipment.
  • Schedule equipment operation times as requested and generate system reports detailing trends and histories.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Proficient knowledge of at least one HVAC control system (preferably Tridium, Distech, Delta, JCI).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems.
  • Engineering skills should encompass knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance is preferred.
  • Good computer skills with an understanding of controls networking.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and comply with MVR requirements to operate a company vehicle.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate of $40.00.
